Responsibilities: Oversee Scientific Methods • Direct all scientific methods for the materials testing facility, ensuring accurate testing for THC, THCA, CBD, CBDA, and CBN potency. • Conduct terpene profile analysis and test for harmful microbials (e.g., Escherichia coli and salmonella), residual solvents, toxins, pesticides, and dangerous molds or mildew. • Lead plant sex identification testing to aid cultivation and production accuracy. Ensure Laboratory Quality Standards • Establish and maintain quality control and assurance protocols to meet and exceed industry standards, following the example of historical scientists like Sir Francis Bacon, who championed rigorous methods. • Conduct regular on-site inspections, maintain specimen retention, and ensure the security and chain of custody for all samples. • Supervise lab space organization and ensure accurate records and timely reporting of results. Supervise Laboratory Staff • Train and mentor lab technicians, fostering a culture of continuous education and scientific excellence, much like the collaborative mentorship seen in the labs of early scientific pioneers. • Oversee staff performance and education, ensuring that all team members receive regular training in the latest scientific practices and technologies. Qualifications: Doctorate in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited college or university, plus two years of post-degree laboratory experience.ORMaster’s degree in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited college or university, plus four years of post-degree laboratory experience.ORBachelor’s degree in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited college or university, plus six years of post-degree laboratory experience. Compensation: $137,000 yearly
