    Job Description

    AbbVie Product Development Science and Technology (PDS&T) Analytical Development – Waltham is responsible for CMC analytical development activities for antibody drug conjugates (ADCs). We are building a team of highly skilled scientists and technical leaders in ADC development to drive the advancement of targeted cancer therapies to improve patient’s lives. The Analytical Development- Waltham team is responsible for late-phase to commercial method development, optimization, validation, advance characterization, process development support, regulatory authoring, and control strategy for ADCs. The team works cross-functionally with process development, regulatory, and quality with the Abbvie network and with contract manufacturing organization and contract laboratories. The Analytical Development – Waltham team is searching for a scientist in bioassay development for antibodies and ADCs to plan and execute laboratory experiments that support bioassay development for CMC release, stability and characterization assays. The candidate will be involved in the development and execution of automation technologies to support process development activities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Independently plan, organize, and execute laboratory studies that support the development, optimization, validation, and transfers of bioassays for release and stability testing of antibodies and ADCs
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issue independently
    • Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment that is used by the bioassay team
    • Author and review technical reports, electronic laboratory notebooks, and presentations
    • Oversee the maintenance of laboratory systems/equipment that are utilized by the bioassay team
    • Actively participate in cross-functional CMC teams

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education with typically 5 years of experience, or Master’s Degree or equivalent education with typically two years of experience.
    • Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out the job functions.
