    Zag Bio’s vision is to develop more precise, potent medicines for immune-mediated diseases.     We are seeking a motivated immunologist with expertise in the execution of in vivo models of autoimmune and inflammatory disease to support of advancement of the company’s novel therapeutics platform for autoimmune disease. This role will require a high level of collaboration with colleagues on the therapeutic and platform development teams.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    In this role, you will report to the Senior Director of Immunology and play a vital role in the company’s efforts to progress novel thymus-directed therapeutics from discovery to IND. You will apply your creativity and foundational background in immunology to:

    Formulate hypotheses, design and implement immunological assays and models, and evaluate results to elucidate therapeutic mechanism of action.

    Serve as the subject matter expert for murine pharmacology models; develop and execute project plans as part of a collaborative cross-functional team.

    Prepare and interpret scientific data to present to Leadership, in team and company meetings.

    Support, train, coach and mentor the lab team.

    Author research reports and relevant sections of regulatory documents to support first-in-human studies and contribute to intellectual property filings.

    Document research activities and findings in electronic laboratory notebook and reagent registries in keeping with the highest industry standards.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Sci I: PhD w/ 0-2 years of post-doc research experience or non-PhDs w/ 2+ years of relevant experience at the Principal Associate Scientist Level

    Sci II: PhD w/ 2+ years of post-doc research experience or non-PhDs with 2+ years at the Scientist I level

    Demonstrated experience leveraging preclinical models of autoimmune and inflammatory disease to uncover novel mechanisms-of-action related to T cell and/or Treg cell biology

    Experience in isolating and characterizing immune cells ex vivo using multiparametric approaches such as immunophenotyping, functional assays, genomics profiling, etc.

    Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic cross-functional environment.

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    Expertise in inflammatory bowel disease research is highly desirable
