We **** are looking for an experienced and self-motivated full-time staff accountant to join our team in Marina, CA. Applicant must work well under pressure with tight deadlines and have excellent communication skills. As one of our staff accountants, you will assist the controller with all financial and accounting procedures/reporting systems and ensure a smooth, efficient, accurate bookkeeping operation supporting the Scudder companies (Scudder Roofing and Scudder Solar). Essential Duties

• Responsible for bookkeeping activities for internal entities including coding, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Will assist the controller with financial statement preparation and month-end closing tasks for both companies, (Scudder Roofing and Scudder Solar).
• Will support all accounts payable processes by entering invoices, preparing payments to vendors, check printing and routing, credit card entry and reconciliation, and 1099’s.
• Will assist payroll department with data entry, tracking, wage attachment management, payroll tax prep, and reporting,
• Will reconcile intercompany receivables.
• Responsible for managing petty cash, including reconciliation and disbursement.
• Will assist human resources department with retirement plan census, new employee entries, accurate worker’s compensation, sick and yard time reporting, and W2’s.
• Responsible for monthly bank reconciliation, amortization schedules, fringe benefit calculations, and assisting with financial statement preparation for the Scudder Leasing entity.
• Will oversee timely and accurate tracking of sales commissions, including entry in accounting software, bonus calculations, and quarterly payouts.
• Will assist in the preparation of annual, quarterly, and monthly financial statements for smaller Scudder entities by assisting with bookkeeping, bill-pay, and deposits.
• Will assist with other accounting functions as needed or assigned.
• Responsible for protecting operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
• Will contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Will establish and maintain effective channels of communication with the owners, co-workers, contractors, clients, affiliates, vendors, and all other business contacts.
• May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task and prioritize.
• Must be able to take authority over projects, take the initiative, and accept responsibility.
• Must be able to work in a team-based environment.
• Strong data entry ability, including email correspondence.
• Diplomacy, discretion, versatility, and reliability are a must.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
