Job Summary
Cuts, trims, scaling, cleaning and prepares seafood for sale in retail establishments.
General Accountabilities
· Providing premier customer service, including greeting them and responding to questions
· Cutting and preparing seafood for sale
· Dynamically selling product by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisions
· Operating scale, automatic scaler to scale fish
· Assisting in ordering the proper amount of product for the Seafood department
· Maintaining, filling and rotating product and displaying it properly
· Maintaining product freshness and sanitation
· Selecting and wrapping product at customer’s request
· Cleaning scales and cutting areas
· Assisting in other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
· Must be able to lift up to 85 pounds
· Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
· Ability to work in a wet and cold environment
· Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment
· Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
