    Austin Wildlife Rescue is a local non-profit that rehabilitates and releases orphaned, injured and sick Native Texas wildlife. We are currently interviewing candidates for 2025 Seasonal Animal Care positions that will work February/March - October. We will be hiring Full-Time (Day Shift) and Part-Time (Night Shift)

    Job Location

    Rehabilitation Center 111 Elbow Bend, Elgin, TX 78621

    Full-Time Schedule

    Day shift staff are scheduled for four days a week 6am-4pm.

    Part-Time Schedule

    Night shift staff are scheduled for three shifts per week 2pm-midnight.

    Responsibilities/Duties:

    This is a very physical job that requires a lot of movement and the ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.

    Cleaning cages

    Feeding animals

    Administering medications

    Maintaining care plans for injured animals

    Providing direction/guidance to interns and volunteers

    Assisting the public with animals they bring to our facility

    Adhering to protocols for animal care and safety

    Communicating effectively & in a timely manner with team members and supervisors

    Following instructions

    Requirements/Preferences:

    A degree in wildlife management or related field is preferred.

    A year of experience working with wildlife is preferred.

    Proof of Tetanus vaccine up to date (within the last 10 years).

    Rabies pre-exposure vaccines are required for this position and cost is the responsibility of the employee. NO EXCEPTIONS.
