Superior Metal Technologies is a full service aluminum metal finishing company, specializing in high-performance architectural coatings, including polyvinylidene fluoride PVDF (Kynar 500) liquid, paint, power coat paint, eco-friendly acid etch anodize and caustic etch anodize. We are looking for a Second Shift Leader responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the second shift in the Aluminum Finishing department. This role involves managing a team of production workers, ensuring quality standards are met, maintaining safety protocols, and driving productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to excellence, and a solid understanding of aluminum finishing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the second shift production team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operation.
- Ensure that all production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations are met or exceeded during the shift.
- Monitor the performance of team members, providing training, feedback, and motivation to enhance productivity and team morale.
- Conduct regular inspections of work areas and equipment to maintain a safe and clean environment, addressing any issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the first shift leader and other departments to ensure a smooth transition between shifts and resolve any ongoing issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production-related problems in real time, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production metrics, quality control checks, and employee performance.
- Attend and participate in shift meetings, communicating any relevant information or updates to the team.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process enhancements and participating in problem-solving efforts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership role, preferably in aluminum finishing or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficient in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including possible overtime or weekends as needed.
