Lorain County is governed by a board of three County Commissioners serving as the general administrative body for Lorain County. All Lorain County Commissioners are elected to office. The Lorain County Board of Commissioners is the budget and appropriating authority for Lorain County government and employs approximately 250 employees. Every agency (with the exception of the Motor Vehicle Gas Tax (MVGT), court, and other elected officeholder relies on the Lorain County Board of Commissioners for their budgets.
The Lorain County Commissioners are accepting applications for the position of Secretary 2 to assist the Commissioners and the Administration with front office work.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will serve as a receptionist and perform routine administrative and secretarial duties to assist with the efficient operation of the office. This position requires working closely with the administrative staff and may include such tasks as assisting with compilation of monthly reports, charts, mail room duties, and other related duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will assist with other administrative duties, including answering phone calls from the public, other county agencies, and directing those calls appropriately. The individual will be responsible for assisting with the scheduling of meetings and staffing the meetings to take notes and compose meeting minutes as required.
Qualifications Required:
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or GED supplemented by course work in the area of administrative office plus one (1) year of office experience. Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and possess a working knowledge of current Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel. Excellent oral and written skills required.
This position has the ability to be Full or Part time, $16/hr dependent on experience
