    Position Summary

    JMT is seeking a highly motivated individual for our Englewood office who has the desire to lead a developing Highways section in a collaborative and progressive workplace. The selected candidate will be responsible for the Highways practice in the Englewood office including hiring, supervising, and developing staff as well as the development and execution of a strategic plan. Also responsible for project management including delivering all project objectives for assigned projects including scope, schedule, and budget. They will have experience with the technical side of the practice and the desire to fully understand and execute the business side of the practice including maintaining client relationships, workload management and financial performance, and staff development and growth to continue our tradition of providing high quality products and services.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate strategic growth plan with office leader, regional manager and practice leaders
    • Establish and grow market presence through marketing and business development activities
    • Manage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordingly
    • Lead and contribute to the production of proposals
    • Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff
    • Establish resources staffing needs for the section
    • Interview and hire staff for the section
    • Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams

    Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Compensation is $145,000 to $185,000 annually or commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
    • Professional Engineer License
    • 10+ years’ experience in specialized discipline
    • Project management and business development experience
    • Proven PM experience and the ability to win work with a variety of clients
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office

    Qualifications Preferred

    • Experience working with local clients at the county and state level
    • Project management and business development experience
    • Experience managing multidiscipline project teams
    • Supervisory experience

    Working Conditions

    Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

    • Mechanical and situational problem solving abilities
    • Prior experience in wheelchair and/or like equipment (ie. bicycles, automotive maintenance, or assembly of complex equipment)
    • Ability to communicate effectively regarding concerns and solutions
    • Experience using hand and power tools
    • Ability to utilize basic electronic devices
    • Organizational skills
    • Ability to learn in-house operational systems
    • Comfortable working with raw materials (ie. Plastics, wood, metals, etc.)
