General Description:
The Security Dispatcher reports to the Security Supervisor, operates the security communication console, access control system, closed circuit television system, and overhead paging system. Monitor alarm panels and systems. Received emergency and non-emergency telephone and radio communications. Uses various communications devised to notify appropriate response personnel. Maintains automate records/logs, prepares reports and other documents, and maintains appropriate filing system. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer all telephone and radio calls for emergency and non-emergency security services.
Notifies and dispatches appropriate response personnel using various communication methods.
Operates the security communication console, access control system, closed circuit television system, and overhead paging system. Calling all codes.
Maintains automated records/logs, prepares reports and other documents, and maintains appropriate filing system using computer aided dispatch software.
Monitors and responds accordingly to all emergency and protection alarm systems.
Monitors and controls Closed Circuit Television Systems.
Attends required meetings, enhances professional growth and development through in-service meetings and workshops
Calls all Emergency Codes using the overhead paging system. Documents necessary Medical Alert Codes in the Meditech system. Establishes communication links with community emergency-response agencies during disaster or crisis events.
Provides communication support to Emergency Operations Center and supports the Hospital Emergency Incident Command System.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knows fire, disaster, and safety procedures as pertains to the work area.
Requirements:
Formal Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Work Experience:
No experience required.
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
Welle Training (Behavioral Safety Management for Healthcare) preferred.
