    Summit Technologies, Inc. is in search of an experienced Security Engineer for a potential opportunity supporting our Department of Defense client. As a Security Engineer you will perform a wide variety of evaluations, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure the client’s environments performance meets DISA requirements and user satisfaction. You must be a US citizen, as this is part of a government contract that requires a DoD Secret security clearance. You may be required to work at the onsite headquarters at Fort Meade, MD.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Analyze, design, install, configure, maintain, repair, and document network services between DISA HQ, DISA computing services, Cloud service providers, other DoD organizations, and application components.
    • Test the security of the application patches/changes in the test environments prior to applying to the production environment.
    • Establish and maintain virtual web servers and elastic compute devices and virtual web servers.
    • Implement firewall rules and access control lists (ACLs) to control traffic flow and enhance network security.
    • Maintain system data and system audit logging.
    • Implement web server configuration upgrades, coordinate system and application changes on the production server with Cloud service providers.
    • Report patch management, vulnerability disclosure program findings, task order/operation order configuration changes, and any other environment changes in the environment configuration report section of the MSR.
    • Provide expertise of DoD systems cyber security standards (DoDI 8570.01-M).
    • Support system delivery w/ DoD cyber security policy.
    • Ensure system compliance w/ DoD Certification and Accreditation policies.
    • Collaborate with the Development team on the security design process.

    Required Experience and Qualifications:

    • Experience using tools such as DISA STIGs.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft - Windows Server and Desktop, Active Directory.
    • Experience with SSP documentation and accreditation.
    • Contributing to system documentation and supporting artifacts
    • Hands on experience with NESSUS scans.

    Education:

    • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science.

    Certification:

    • An 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CNS, SSCP).

    Security Clearance:

    • DoD Secret security clearance.
