Security Officer Position

About the Role

As a Security Officer at MedStar Health, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our healthcare community. This position combines vigilant security oversight with professional customer service to support our mission of exceptional patient care.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises to ensure safety and security
• Respond promptly to security calls and emergency situations
• Monitor and report potential security risks affecting patients, staff, visitors, or facilities
• Implement and enforce security policies and procedures
• Provide mentorship and training to junior security staff members
• Serve in charge role as needed
• Maintain required documentation and incident reports
• Work collaboratively with healthcare staff and law enforcement when necessary

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Experience requirements:
  • Officer I: 1-2 years of security experience
  • Officer II: 5-7 years of security experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
• Physical ability to patrol premises and respond to emergencies
