Job Summary:
The Security Officer Fleet Lead is responsible for overseeing the management, coordination, and maintenance of the company’s fleet of security vehicles to ensure seamless support for field operations. This role ensures that all vehicles are in optimal condition, compliant with regulations, and meet the operational demands of the security team. The Fleet Lead works closely with security personnel, maintenance vendors, and leadership to maintain efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Operations Management
Supervise and manage the daily operations of the company’s fleet to support security activities.
Develop and implement schedules for vehicle deployment and ensure timely availability.
Coordinate vehicle assignments and monitor usage to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.
Vehicle Maintenance and Compliance
Oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure fleet reliability and safety.
Ensure all vehicles meet regulatory standards, including licensing, insurance, and inspections.
Maintain a detailed log of vehicle maintenance records and ensure timely follow-ups.
Team Leadership
Provide leadership and support to drivers or other personnel assigned to the fleet.
Monitor driver performance and address any issues related to conduct, safety, or efficiency.
Cost and Inventory Management
Monitor fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and other fleet-related expenses to manage budgets effectively.
Maintain inventory of necessary spare parts, tools, and supplies.
Negotiate and manage relationships with service providers and vendors.
Safety and Risk Management
Ensure all vehicles are equipped with necessary safety equipment and meet operational requirements.
Investigate and report vehicle accidents or incidents promptly, and implement corrective measures.
Develop and enforce fleet safety policies to mitigate risks.
Reporting and Data Analysis
Track and analyze fleet performance metrics, including fuel efficiency, downtime, and repair costs.
Prepare regular reports for management on fleet operations and suggest areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, fleet management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fleet management or a related role, preferably in the security industry.
Experience supervising teams and managing vendor relationships.
Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Licenses/Certifications:
Must have a valid FL driver’s license.
Must have a valid security guard D license.
Fleet management certifications (preferred).
Working Conditions:
May require working outside standard office hours to address emergencies or ensure fleet readiness.
Exposure to outdoor environments during vehicle inspections.
