Job Summary
We are seeking a professional Security Officer to join our team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and secure environment. You will protect our premises, assets, and employees and prevent any illegal or inappropriate occurrences. The ideal candidate has experience with public safety and security and operates with a high degree of integrity at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Access Control: Monitor and control access to the property, checking identification and authorizing entry as needed.
Surveillance: Maintain constant surveillance of the entry/exit points and report suspicious activities to the Security Supervisor.
Visitor Management: Register and assist visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel, ensuring adherence to security protocols.
Incident Reporting: Document and report security incidents, safety hazards, and unusual occurrences in a timely manner.
Communication: Coordinate effectively with other security personnel and communicate all relevant information via radio or designated communication systems.
Emergency Response: Assist in emergency situations, including fire, medical, and evacuation protocols.
Documentation: Maintain logs and records of gatehouse activities, visitor entries, and security incidents.
Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous assistance to employees, guests, and vendors entering the facility.
Adherence to Protocols: Follow all company and client-specific security procedures, safety protocols, and legal requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old for this position.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Must have a valid security guard D license.
Must have a valid FL driver's license.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Security Guard or in a similar position is preferred
High school diploma/GED
Strong understanding of public safety and security procedures
Excellent written communication skills and report writing ability
Ability to operate surveillance equipment
High level of integrity and professionalism
Attention to detail and strong observational skills
Ability to work without direct supervision
