    Job Overview

    The Information Directorate (RI), Information Protection Branch (RIOI) is seeking to hire a mid-level DO-2, Security Specialist (0080) in Rome, NY.

    • The Security Analyst is responsible for identifying and assessing potential risks to the Information Directorate portfolio.
    • Determines the probability of threats and severity of damage to assist leadership in making risk management decisions on protection of site assets.
    • Conducts in-depth research using multiple security and intelligence databases to profile known and unknown risks to key technology development efforts.
    • Prepares and provides threat awareness training and education for the Information Directorate.

    Required Qualifications

    • United States Citizenship
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 5 Security Investigation.

    • Travel and/or performance of additional duties may be required.
    • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.

    This position requires the following certification IAW with AFI 36-2645:

    • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
    • Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC)

    • Experience working with the Department of Defense research community

    • Knowledge of Air Force operations, objectives, principles and methods
    • The ability to excel working independently and as a member of a team.
