    Job Summary:

    The Revenue Accountant role is heavily focused on the timely and accurate recording of revenue for the Life Division. In addition, the Revenue Accountant works directly with members of the Finance organization to ensure completeness of the Life Division revenue. The Revenue Accountant is also responsible for monitoring Accounts Receivable and working directly with the SelectQuote partner insurance carriers. This individual would be responsible for reconciling receivables on a monthly basis.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

    ** Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

    • Reconcile monthly revenue reports and prepare monthly journal entries.
    • Analyze and research revenue discrepancies.
    • Research outstanding receivables.
    • Implement recommendations to improve revenue accounting policies and procedures.
    • Assist with annual financial audit; prepare audit schedules.
    • Support Commission Analysts on daily commission workload.
    • Perform special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed.

    Skills/Abilities:

    • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
    • Proficient in accounts receivable, cash and revenue cycle.
    • Revenue recognition work experience, a plus
    • Works well under pressure
    • Highly detail oriented
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Dependable and flexible

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other related fields.
    • A minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
    • Experience in an insurance industry a plus.
    • Experience with NetSuite a plus
    • Must be highly organized, managed multiple priority tasks

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
