Vox Church is looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to join our growing organization. The Senior Accountant will serve as a critical contributor and support the Finance Department within a fast-moving environment. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller and alongside other Finance department personnel. This role is responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate completion of all financial functions, including bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, cash flow management, and federal and state compliance, among other duties. Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accounting records to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting procedural standards
Oversee the preparation of monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Manage cash flow and continuously analyze working capital requirements
Produce accurate and timely reports to assist management with operational decision making
Management of contributions process and reconciliations to donor database
Oversee venue management process for all Vox locations (lease agreements, utilities, etc.)
Complete month-end procedures such as balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining asset schedules (fixed assets, prepaids)
Oversee approval process of expenses for all Vox Church locations
Review and analyze budget to actuals monthly and assist with the development of the annual budget
Communicate with members of different departments across all campuses, donors, as well as external vendors
Responsible for day-to-day accounting operations completed by Staff Accountant and Accounting Assistant
Provide all supporting documentation requested in year-end audit conducted by external auditors
Provide real estate decision-making support to the Controller
Ensure finance programs are configured to scale with future campus launches
Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems
Maintain financial security by following internal controls and financial policy and implementing new policy as appropriate
Assist management with ad hoc projects
Perform other duties as assigned
Experience & Requirements:
A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
Able to work with a minimum of supervision while understanding the necessity for communication and coordinating work efforts with other staff and organizations
Proficient in Microsoft Office – expertise in Microsoft Excel required
