    We are a fast-growing real estate investment and management firm specializing in manufactured home communities, self-storage, and small bay warehouses across the United States. Our portfolio consists of multiple companies with complex financial operations, requiring a strategic and detail-oriented approach to accounting and financial management. As we continue to scale, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to oversee and optimize our accounting functions, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibilities as our organization grows. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing all accounting functions across our property operations and affiliated entities. This role requires a high-caliber professional with a deep understanding of financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership potential, the ability to implement scalable financial systems, and a keen eye for process improvement. As the company expands, this role offers significant growth opportunities, including hiring and leading an accounting team. Responsibilities: Accounting & Financial Management: • Oversee the full-cycle accounting process for all entities, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close procedures. • Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies. • Manage intercompany transactions and consolidations across multiple entities. Financial Reporting & Analysis: • Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing insights to the executive team for strategic decision-making. • Develop financial models and projections to support growth initiatives and operational efficiency. • Assist in the preparation of investor reports and presentations. Process Improvement & Scalability: • Implement and optimize accounting systems, policies, and procedures to support a growing organization. • Streamline financial workflows to enhance accuracy and efficiency in reporting. • Identify areas for automation and digital integration within the accounting functions. Compliance & Risk Management: • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to property management and real estate investments. • Coordinate with external tax professionals and financial institutions as needed. • Manage insurance and financial risk across all entities. Leadership & Team Development: • Act as a strategic financial partner to senior leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations. • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing. • Plan for and participate in the hiring and training of additional accounting staff to support future growth. • Source local and institutional debt for purchase and refinance transactions. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred). • MUST HAVE 5+ years of accounting experience, in real estate, property management, or related industries. • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. • Experience in accounting for manufactured housing communities is a plus but not required. • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, AppFolio, Yardi, Rent Manager or similar) and Excel. • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment. • Strong leadership potential with a proactive mindset toward growth and strategic financial planning. • This is a remote position be being located in the southeast or central/eastern time zone would be helpful.
