GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Accountant and Financial Analyst has the responsibility of performing functions related to various aspects of the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial analysis and reporting. This position also supports special projects as requested by the Senior Controller. Must be highly motivated, organized, attentive to detail, able to work independently and the ability to handle multitasks in a fast-paced environment.
This position reports direct to the Senior Controller, but will have considerable exposure to the EVP, Finance and the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Ledger:
- Assist in month-end closing process to include reconciling assigned accounts each month, prepare and post general journal entries, as assigned.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist the Senior Controller and Controller with preparation of monthly financial statements;
- Assist in revenue and expense analysis, as requires at month-end and ad hoc.
- Assist with year end audit;
- Assist with Annual Budget; and
- Assist with Financial Analysis.
General Department Responsibilities:
- Prepares schedules and researches issues.
- Works collaboratively and daily with Staff Accountants, Accounts Payable and Controllers, and Accounting Systems staff.
- Performs other accounting and analysis duties as may be required including backing up teammates in their absence;
- Special projects, as assigned
- Demonstrates at all times the willingness and initiative to be a team player and a driver of positive results.
- Occasionally, assists in training new employees.
- Perform other duties and projects as required.
Experience, Education and Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 1-2 years of public accounting experience, however, we are looking for, in total 3-5 years of audit/general ledger accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of data processing capabilities and procedures.
- Strong skill in excel, accuracy and precision, interest in business, organized, willingness to follow recommended procedures, honesty, patience, good written, and oral communication skills, good people skills and team player.
