    This is a newly created role as a result of an internal promotion of our Chief Financial Officer, who you will mentor under and directly support.

    Senior Accountant – How You Will Make a Difference

    You will be hands-on in supporting and overseeing the organization’s finance and accounting operations, supporting the CFO and serving as the direct manager a small accounting team, troubleshooting and assisting them with escalated matters and questions.

    • Engage directly in all aspects of accounting, with emphasis on the more complex accounting matters, while also reviewing the work of and mentoring the accounting team of 2 support staff
    • Prepare and review monthly financial statement package including performance of balance sheet account reconciliations, monthly financial statement package and board reporting package
    • Account for program funding, including budgeting and financial reporting requirements by program
    • Review payroll and ensure accuracy – payroll is very complex and includes very specific regulations and complex and detailed wage and hour reporting!
    • Implement ongoing process improvements in the finance and accounting department
    • Ensure compliance with State and Federal terms and conditions, including timely submission of reports and financial documentation
    • Coordinate with external CPA and auditors for annual 403b and financial audits including providing all schedules and requested documentation

    Senior Accountant \- Required Skills, Experience & Culture Fit

    • You enjoy being hands on in the day-to-day operations of the finance department
    • You have strong general ledger accounting experience and skills – GAAP accounting, month end close and financial statement preparation
    • You have prior experience managing accountants, mentoring and developing team members, sharing your knowledge and fostering their growth

    • You are able to work 100% in office in Sacramento daily Monday – Friday

    Senior Accountant – You Might Have (Not Required)

    • Prior experience working in not-for-profit accounting
    • Prior experience performing or overseeing very complex payroll reporting / wage and hour law
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    Senior Accountant – For You 

    Your compensation will be $80,000.
