    Senior Accountant I [Direct Hire/Hybrid Schedule/Excellent Growth]

    Overview

    The Sr. Accountant I will apply principles of accounting [US GAAP] to record and analyze financial information and prepare financial statements and reports for management.

    Responsibilities

    • Support the accounting team in the delivery of the operational agenda in the areas of loan 4-applications balancing.
    • Perform various loan applications daily balancing and research / resolve reject issues.
    • Perform yield analysis.
    • Participate in the month end close process, including but not limited to variance analysis, processing journal entries, reconciliation and certification of general ledger account balances.
    • Research & resolve any discrepancies or out of balance conditions for loan sub-system.
    • Prepare various schedules to support board package, and for external auditors. Provide assistance as needed in the preparation of audited financial statements and related footnotes.
    • Provide assistance in the preparation of banking regulatory reports.
    • Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree (accounting or finance degree preferred). Master's a plus not required.
    • CPA license preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles [US GAAP] and concepts.
    • 3+ years general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and/or auditing experience.
    • Banking or financial institution experience preferred.
    • Loan system application, and/or partnership accounting experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of FIS, PeopleSoft or other large ERP/Accounting systems a plus.
    • Strong analytical, technical, organizational, and problem solving skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team.
