Senior Accountant
Our client is in beautiful Fort Myers, FL, and looking for qualified professionals to join their team! They are a well-established non-profit that brings much-needed services to the community.
The Position: Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their established team in the Fort Myers area. They are offering the following compensation and benefits:
- $49,000-$64,000 Per Year Based On Experience
- Full Benefits - 60 Days After Start Date (Health, Vision, Dental)

Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
- Must be able to attain competence with Great Plains, Sage, and FRX reporting software and use it effectively within assigned timeframes.
- 3 Years of Accounting Experience
- Excellent Computer Skills
Responsibilities:
- Ensures accurate and timely recording of financial data in the accounting database.
- Correctly prepares all assigned journal entries and ensures that General Ledger balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.
- Accurately reviews income statement accounts for reasonableness and prepares necessary appropriate adjusting entries including accruals.
- Prepares daily cash flow report.
- Accurately and timely journalizes electronic cash receipts.
- Daily posts non-patient receipts to A/R sub-ledgers.
- Prepares monthly bank reconciliations. Works with accounting team to timely research and resolve any reconciliation items.
- Delivers cash deposits to bank weekly and at month end.
- Successfully works with patient billing department and AP to timely research all stale dated or returned checks.
- Accurately, prepares and files annual unclaimed property reports with appropriate State agencies.
- Routinely works with fundraising team to accurately and timely maintain the special funds donations sub-ledger.
- Accurately prepares annual bank and legal audit confirmation letters.
- Promptly provides monitors and auditors with requested information.
- Accurately counts and prices, on a quarterly basis, the indigent drug inventory and records any necessary true-up journal entries. Assists the senior accountant with inventory variance analysis as needed.
- Consistently conducts thorough periodic audits of petty cash located throughout facilities.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the contracts invoiced for general ledger review and reconciliation purposes.
