  • Responsibilities

    Senior Accountant of Mergers & Acquisitions needed for fast growing company. This is a head office role responsible for assisting in the due diligence process, transaction accounting and the integration of acquired businesses.

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate to work for a growing company.


    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and execute the integration process of newly acquired businesses including on-boarding and preparation of opening balance sheet work.

    • Collaborate with external parties to ensure proper accounting for M&A transactions and preparation of purchase price allocations.

    • Analyze, prepare and record complex journal entries including allocation entries, accruals, payroll, prepaids amortizations, and intercompany entries for the newly acquired business.

    • Work cross-functionally with other departments to increase financial reporting accuracy.

    • Lead and execute Ad hoc projects as required.

    • Occasional travel required (up to 50%)

     

    Experience and Qualities Required:

    • 3-8+ years of accounting experience. Experience in public accounting is a strong plus
    • Strong understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and ability to perform research as necessary
    • Must be detail oriented, and technically minded
    • Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize
    • Strong research and reconciliation skills required
    • Proficient use of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel required
    • Experience with learning new financial accounting systems
    • Knowledge and exposure to multi-company organizations a plus
    • Team player
    • Self-motivated as well as strong leadership trains and skills.
    • Professional written and verbal communication as well as great interpersonal skills.
    • Customer focused (i.e., generating accurate and timely results and effectively and timely communicating to customers, colleagues, and management)
    • Desire to lead new process creation and implementation
    • Dedicated and committed individual

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
