Northwest Pump is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in NW Portland. This position plays a key role in our treasury operations — managing daily cash activity and optimizing liquidity — while also supporting financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits. What will this position do?
- Manage daily cash positioning and reporting to ensure adequate liquidity across all operational accounts and timely execution of funding activities.
- Monitor cash balances and movements across multiple bank accounts and legal entities, identifying trends and ensuring alignment with operational needs.
- Assist in developing short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts to support strategic planning and financial decision-making.
- Collaborate with banking partners to support ongoing relationships, resolve transactional issues, and identify opportunities to improve cash management efficiency.
- Evaluate and optimize cash management tools and processes, including banking platforms, payment solutions, and internal controls.
- Prepare, analyze, and present treasury-related metrics and reports for finance leadership, offering insights into liquidity, cash flow performance, and treasury operations.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, minimum Associate’s degree, specializing in Accounting or Finance from two-year college or technical school; and minimum two years GL based accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the petroleum industry, industrial industry, or distribution industry is not required but a significant plus
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making ability
- Ability to organize, plan, and consistently meet deadlines
- Track record of reliability and dependability
- Ability to work autonomously, and collaboratively; self-motivated
- Committed to ethical practices and staying current on laws and regulations
- Familiar with computer programs including Microsoft Office 365
