    Role Overview

    The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting regulations and company policies. This position collaborates closely with the accounting team to contribute to the financial health of the organization by ensuring strong financial controls and efficient accounting operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger entries. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes and contribute to the preparation of financial reports and statements. Support the annual external audit process.
    • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Prepare and maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Compliance & Risk Management: Uphold internal controls, adhere to accounting standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in coordination with internal and external auditors, as well as legal and tax teams.
    • Financial Business Partnering: Provide financial insights and analysis to local and regional management teams, supporting data-driven decision-making.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including finance, operations, sales, procurement, and IT, to align financial processes with business needs. Keep senior management informed of key financial updates, process improvements, and system enhancements.
    • Project Support: Contribute to and manage local finance-related projects, driving efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
    • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization within the accounting function, supporting lean initiatives and enhancing overall financial reporting efficiency.

    Internal & External Interactions

    • Internal: Collaborates with finance and controlling teams, local management, IT, and other departments to streamline financial operations.
    • External: Engages with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
    • Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

    Technical Skills & Knowledge

    • Basic understanding of financial principles, accounting standards (IFRS preferred), and budgeting processes.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with ERP systems (Great Plains or SAP preferred). Familiarity with reporting tools such as Board, BI, or HFM is a plus.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
