    PSG is assisting an exciting local company focused in the Biotech / Life sciences space to hire a Senior Accountant. This company has been growing over the past year with exciting developments with their product lines. Work from home 4 days a week if preferred! With solid leadership and mentorship from the direct manager, this is a great opportunity to be very involved with the business and accounting overall! This role will report to a collaborative Controller who is a CPA with prior public accounting experience and is a great mentor. The person taking on this role will have exposure to a variety of areas to grow your experience - from the day-to-day accounting needs through to complex financial analyses and technical accounting matters. This could be a great opportunity for someone looking to transition from public accounting audit to industry, or someone that has worked for a public company and wants to work somewhere that has progression opportunity.

    Senior Accountant Job Description Overview:

    The Senior Accountant plays a key role in managing financial records, ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, and supporting overall financial operations.

    Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities:

    • Record transactions, prepare journal entries, and reconcile balance sheet and subledger accounts for accuracy.
    • Assist in the month-end closing process and prepare monthly financial statements.
    • Contribute to year-end closings and support the annual audit process.
    • Analyze manufacturing and operational costs, revenues, and financial commitments to help senior leadership forecast future financial performance.
    • Compile financial data to support the preparation of financial statements and reports.
    • Provide support for both internal and external financial reporting and analysis, ensuring adherence to corporate deadlines and requirements.
    • Deliver accounting support across different departments.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various projects and processes.
    • Engage in special projects and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

    Senior Accountant Core Competencies:

    Senior Accountant Required Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a dynamic environment.
    • Public accounting experience is highly desirable.
    • Experience in life sciences or biotech is an advantage.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Advanced degree, CPA, or CMA is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, and U.S. GAAP.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

    Work Environment: Position based in Carlsbad, CA, with flexibility for remote work.

    Position Type/Hours: Full-time role requiring flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work.

    Travel: Up to 10% travel may be required.

      $85,000-$105,000 per year
