Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing and executing daily accounting tasks, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting senior leadership with insightful financial reporting. You will collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes and systems while ensuring compliance with regulations and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Reconcile balance sheets, bank accounts, and other financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and tax filings.
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits and manage audit processes.
• Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses to assist management with strategic decision-making.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed.
• Identify opportunities for cost reductions and financial process improvements.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to effectively present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
