  • Responsibilities

    SumBridge is hiring a Senior Accountant to join one of our favorite client’s corporate accounting team. The company is a large corporate company working in e-commerce and whose brands are well-known worldwide. This Senior Accountant is going to participate in regular general ledger tasks and functions to support the team, but will also participate in other projects related to systems upgrades/implementations and process improvement. The Senior Accountant role is a permanent, full-time role, is on-site in the south sound, offers competitive compensation, and benefits.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Perform journal entries with proper documentation and classification according to accounting standards and company policies.
    • Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts, including general ledger and bank accounts
    • Analyze discrepancies and resolve issues in collaboration with others
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of journal entries and account reconciliations
    • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to analyze existing financial systems, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions
    • Lead or support cross-functional projects that enhance financial systems and processes, such as automation or system upgrades.
    • Develop and document workflows, system specifications, and procedures for changes or enhancements to financial systems
    • Oversee the testing and validation of system updates or new implementations to ensure they meet business and accounting requirements
    • Provide training and support to finance team members on new systems or procedures.
    • Track project progress, manage risks, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
    • Serve as the main point of contact between finance, IT, and other departments for system-related issues and improvements
    • Ensure all system and process changes comply with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal controls.
    • Participate in audits and internal reviews to ensure financial systems are operating effectively and recommend improvements as needed

    Job Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
    • Degree or relevant experience in Accounting Information Systems (AIS) administration or similar area
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, including experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial systems administration
    • Experience with ERP systems, financial system implementation, or process improvements is highly preferred
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), financial systems, and internal controls
    • Proficiency in ERP systems, data analysis tools, and financial systems administration
    • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot system-related issues and recommend practical solutions
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
    • Effective communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to train and support team members on new software or systems
  • Compensation
    $90,000 per year
