Job Title: Senior Accountant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in the month-end close process, cash management, financial analysis, and budget preparation. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Month-End Close:
- Execute and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and other adjustments.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations.
- Cash Management:
- Manage daily cash receipts and disbursements.
- Monitor and reconcile bank accounts.
- Ensure accurate and timely cash flow reporting.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain deviations from budget and forecasts.
- Perform trend analysis to identify key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to management.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Develop and maintain budget models and forecasts.
- Compare actuals to budgets, and provide explanations for variances.
- Reconciliations:
- Perform various account reconciliations, including balance sheet account, bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- ERP System Management:
- Utilize and maintain ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or similar) to ensure accurate financial data.
- Assist with system implementations and upgrades as needed.
- Ad hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive general accounting experience, with a mix of public and corporate accounting preferred.
- CPA certification preferred or actively pursuing certification (eligible to sit for the CPA exam).
- Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced excel skills.
- Position is hybrid: in office 3 days a week
