Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst, Medicare Bid. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining actuarial models, analyzing data, and providing strategic insights to support the pricing and bidding process for the Medicare Advantage plans. The position will require you to ensure compliance with Medicare regulations and risk adjustment methodologies while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of healthcare actuarial experience
- A minimum of 2 years of actuarial experience
- Experience with writing queries in SQL or another programming language
- Demonstrated project management skills in data-related and financial analysis projects
- Proven experience in developing and implementing bid pricing strategies, with a focus on analytical rigor and speed in assessing the financial performance impacts of product designs for Medicare Advantage plans.
- Strong expertise in analyzing and interpreting regulatory guidance to ensure compliance with Medicare Advantage bid requirements.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with product, market, executive, and cross-functional teams to integrate market trends, competitive analysis, and organizational goals into pricing decisions.
- Experience developing key inputs and assumptions supporting the annual Medicare Advantage bid.
- Skilled in conducting sensitivity analyses and scenario testing to evaluate the impact of various factors on bid pricing outcomes.
- Expertise in analyzing and interpreting healthcare claims data, enrollment data, and other relevant information to identify trends and patterns.
- Strong ability to work closely with data analysts and actuaries to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data used in the pricing process.
- In-depth knowledge of risk adjustment methodologies and experience in assessing their implications for pricing and financial performance.
- Proven ability to generate regular reports for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and providing actionable insights into financial results.
- Extensive experience in analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in pricing methodologies.
Experience Preferences:
- A minimum of 2 years of Medicare Bid experience
