Title: Senior Application Analyst - Application Rationalization

CereCore is seeking a Senior Application Analyst to join our team and drive application rationalization engagements, optimizing our client’s application portfolio for enhanced efficiency and interoperability.
Job Summary:
As a Senior Application Analyst, you will lead efforts to streamline our application landscape, identifying and addressing redundant, obsolete, underutilized, or inefficient applications. Your strategic recommendations will help us achieve cost savings, improved functionality, and better integration across our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Initiation & Assessment:
- Lead project kick-off meetings and establish project governance.
- Oversee data collection, including application inventory, usage analysis, business value assessment, technical assessment, and cost analysis.
- Document the current state of the application landscape and identify gaps and inefficiencies.
- Develop rationalization criteria and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
- Application Analysis & Recommendation:
- Prioritize applications for rationalization using defined criteria and scoring models.
- Explore rationalization options (retire, replace, consolidate, modernize, maintain) for each application.
- Formulate specific recommendations and design the future state architecture.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis for each recommendation.
- Implementation Planning & Execution:
- Develop detailed implementation plans, including timelines, resources, and dependencies.
- Manage vendor selection processes, data migration strategies, and integration planning.
- Create and execute change management plans to ensure smooth adoption of new applications.
- Oversee training, implementation execution, and thorough testing of new applications.
- Project Closure & Ongoing Optimization:
- Finalize project documentation and conduct post-implementation reviews.
- Track and report on the realized benefits of the rationalization effort.
- Establish processes for ongoing monitoring and optimization of the application portfolio.
Qualifications:
- Leadership competency and experience presenting/making recommendations to senior business and IT leadership
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in application analysis, IT project management, or a related role within the healthcare industry.
- Strong understanding of healthcare applications, interoperability standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in leading application rationalization or similar optimization projects.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or healthcare IT (CHCIO, CPHIMS).
- Experience with automated discovery tools and data analysis software.
