Senior Architectural Historian

Position Summary: Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a full-time Architectural Historian with 8+ years’ experience to assist our Cultural Resources team. The position will entail technical work focusing on historic structures documentation and evaluation, and architectural survey work.
Additional JMT office locations may be considered.
The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team including archaeologists, architectural historians, historians, environmental scientists, engineers, and planners. The qualified candidate must be able to write at a professional level and present ideas in a well thought-out and comprehensive manner. The preferred candidate will enjoy a variety of working conditions ranging from field efforts to office analysis.
Compensation is $75,000. - $100,000. annual salary, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in the field up to 50% of the time and may require the ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Field work will require walking and carrying field equipment over typical outdoor terrain. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Office work is performed within a general office environment 50% of the time. Office work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Office work is performed with adequate lighting and temperature, with no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
The position will entail up to 50 percent travel throughout the United States. Candidate must be willing to travel throughout the U.S. for brief (e.g., 1 or 2 week) work efforts on their own as well as with coworkers.
