Responsibilities: • Strategize, prepare for, and attend trial proceedings, mediation, and arbitration • Keep apprised of changes to local, state, and federal statutes and laws • Provide guidance and advice to associate attorneys and paralegals to resolve or prevent conflicts • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings • Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests and responses • Draft Detailed Responsive Documents • Draft memorandum summarizing client defense responses • Keep track of information and documents obtained from client, submitted to regulatory agencies or tribunal, etc., throughout the life of the case • Prepare expert packets • Conduct research • Draft various correspondence and pleadings • Exchanged e-mails and conducted telephone calls with clients, witnesses, experts, and other legal professionals • Administrative hearing appearances, including preparing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and other tasks as needed • Track time spent on tasks and enter into billing software • You need to have strong skills in the following areas: research, writing, courtroom presentation, the ability to communicate with clients, and use of common technology. • We are looking for a team player willing to take ownership of a client's case, including direct contact with clients and opposing counsel, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and handling depositions, pretrial hearings, and trials. Yes, trials. • Other tasks as assigned by attorney Qualifications: • Four-year bachelor’s degree and successful completion of law school from an accredited law school • Active member in good standing with local and state bar associations • Persuasive writing skills and verbal communication skills are critical, along with time management and interpersonal skills • Five years of experience as a senior associate in the legal industry • Able to work independently while handling multiple files Compensation: $135,000 - $150,000 yearly
