The buy counter becomes a place where you get to shine! You’re an essential part of the buying team and will play a pivotal role in determining our store inventory. You will be responsible for evaluating, selecting, and pricing a variety of children’s clothing, shoes, toys, books, equipment, and much more efficiently and quickly while adhering to our pricing and buying guidelines.

· Able to prioritize and reprioritize quickly
· Organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to spot quality issues in an expedient manner.
· Outgoing and friendly with excellent communication skills
· A team player who can work collaboratively with others
· A self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently
· Will have flexibility with work schedules; holidays and weekends are a must
· Able to effectively communicate our Buy Policy to our customers
· Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic
Responsibilities:
· Select and purchase a diverse range of children’s clothing, toys, books, and baby gear, ensuring that selections align with seasonal trends, inventory needs, and customer preferences.
· Stay informed about current fashion trends, emerging brands, equipment safety, and recalls to make informed purchasing decisions.
· Price and ticket items based on pricing and buying guidelines provided.
· Ensure that all purchased items meet our store’s quality standards and comply with safety regulations.
· Become an expert with products, brands, and prices to help customers find what they are looking for and make recommendations based on their needs
· Work closely with other team members to educate them on changes made to our buying decisions every week.
· Greet and assist customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
· Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
· Maintain the store's appearance by organizing merchandise, stocking shelves, and keeping the store clean.
· Participate in in-store events and promotions.
· Work collaboratively with other team members and provide an outstanding customer experience.

Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of 1 year of experience in inventory selection, general retail sales, or equivalent knowledge of children’s clothing and toy brands.
· Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
· Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance. Heavier lifting may be involved, with the assistance of a team member or cart/dolly.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule. Saturdays are required.
