We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Centralized Services Technician to join our team and manage the proactive maintenance, security, and optimization of our clients' IT infrastructure.

    Essence of the Role: The essence of the Centralized Services Technician role is to proactively manage and secure the IT infrastructure of our clients, ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency. This role is pivotal in maintaining a standardized, consistent, and high-quality service delivery environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to implementing best practices in cybersecurity and IT management, contributing to the overall success of our IT operations.

    Position Overview: As a Centralized Services Technician, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks focused on the proactive management of client systems, including security assessments, backup verification, patch management, and network monitoring. You will play a key role in implementing and maintaining robust cybersecurity measures, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing IT infrastructure across our client base. You will be working in hosted environments, primarily Microsoft Azure. This is a Microsoft heavy position, the more experience you have with Azure, M365, Active Directory, RDP desktop and applications and similar technologies the more potential you will have in winning this role.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Firewall Management and Security Reviews:

    Review CISA Advisory Notifications & Cyber Hygiene Reports, document a response plan and address issues.

    Implement cybersecurity improvement projects based on the findings from these reviews.

    Scripting and Automation:

    Develop and maintain scripts, primarily using PowerShell, to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.

    Ensure consistent deployment and management of Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools across all client environments.

    Backup Management:

    Verify that backups are completing successfully across all systems.

    Complete regular test restores of servers and Microsoft 365 data to ensure data integrity and reliability.

    Change Management:

    Implement and manage a Change Management System for critical systems, including network infrastructure, firewalls, servers, and Microsoft 365.

    Security Assessments and Penetration Testing:

    Conduct regular penetration tests and document response plans to address identified vulnerabilities.

    Implement and manage cybersecurity tools, ensuring comprehensive protection of client systems.

    Review and improve Microsoft Secure Score by implementing targeted security improvement projects.

    Patch Management:

    Implement a comprehensive patch management program for servers and workstations, including verification procedures to ensure all systems are up to date.

    Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Projects:

    Deploy and manage Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions and PC Backup for enhanced data protection and secure access.

    Implement and monitor cybersecurity projects to improve client environments' overall security posture.

    Network Monitoring and Administration:

    Monitor network performance and health to ensure optimal operation and uptime.

    Set up and maintain monitoring systems, suppress unnecessary alarms, and ensure only critical alerts are sent to the remediation team.

    Process Improvement and Documentation:

    Identify opportunities for process improvement and help maintain alignment with IT best practices.

    Ensure all processes for centralized services are thoroughly documented and kept up-to-date.

    Develop and maintain an internal training program for tools used in centralized services.

    Requirements:

    Proven experience in a similar role within an MSP environment.

    Proficiency in scripting and automation, particularly using PowerShell.

    Experience implementing and managing change management systems for critical IT infrastructure.

    Strong knowledge of Active Directory, including current versions.

    Strong knowledge of firewall management, network security, and cybersecurity best practices.

    Strong knowledge of RMM tools and consistent deployment practices.

    Experience with managing alerts and ensuring only critical alarms are sent to the remediation team.

    In-depth knowledge of patch management processes, including approval, deployment, and error remediation.

    Proficiency in cybersecurity tools deployment, monitoring, and threat remediation.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Azure management.

    Solid experience with backup processes, including deployment, monitoring, test restores, and documentation.

    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining comprehensive documentation.

    Excellent communication and training skills for developing and delivering internal training programs.

    Capacity planning and resource management skills.

    Asset and vendor management experience.

    Experience with Microsoft 365 Business Premium or E5, and familiarity with Microsoft EM+S Suite.
