The Senior Construction Estimator will lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, encompassing labor, materials, and subcontractor costs. Working closely with project teams, the Senior Construction Estimator will review plans and specifications to determine the full project scope, identify opportunities for cost savings, and ensure competitive and accurate bids.
Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive and detailed cost estimates, including breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project requirements to assess scope and ensure accurate bidding.
Evaluate design options and recommend innovative, cost-effective solutions to improve project feasibility and profitability.
Negotiate terms with subcontractors and vendors and prepare agreements and purchase orders for construction projects.
Maintain well-organized, detailed records of estimates, bids, and project documentation for internal and external use.
Work closely with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
Qualifications:
A 2-year degree in construction management, engineering, or related fields, or equivalent technical training and experience.
2+ years of experience estimating commercial construction projects, with a proven ability to deliver accurate and competitive bids.
Advanced knowledge of multiple trades, construction methods, estimating techniques, and cost control principles.
Proficiency in computerized cost data and estimating software, as well as MS Office tools like Excel and Project.
