    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Digital Content Manager.

    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Content Lead (Senior Manager) for our .EDU web properties (med.nyu.edu & medli.nyu.edu).
    This position will have a significant impact on the development and delivery of content across NYULHs far-reaching and influential .EDU sites, with a focus on driving content strategy that delivers on the needs of the various audiences the sites serve. This role will also be responsible for developing and executing content that leverages cutting-edge technology to enhance NYULHs presence and increase engagement.
    Reporting to the Digital Experience Lead (Director), this position will promote the NYULH Grossman School of Medicine brand and drive meaningful engagement on NYULHs .EDU sites through compelling storytelling that is guided by strategic insights and data.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Content Strategy

    * Develop and oversee an actionable website strategy to align with institutional goals
    * Participate in relevant stakeholder meetings forums, bringing forward strategic perspectives and POVs based on insights, data and content best practices
    * Receive and analyze content requests from department and institutional stakeholders, developing tailored content strategies fit for the .EDU channel
    * Author comprehensive briefs that clearly define project scope, objective(s), and deliverables to guide the content development process (as needed)
    * Manage multiple content initiatives at once and support development of a proactive .EDU content strategy agenda, identifying and embedding emerging trends and relevant audience insights to establish NYULH as a content leader in the web space
    * Establish and maintain an editorial calendar to ensure timely and relevant content updates 
    * Define and incorporate audience insights and .EDU data to customize content strategy to meet audience needs and improve the user experience
    * Execute and enhance organic growth initiatives, focusing on improving search reach for strategic pages
    * Collaborate with .ORG content lead in the process to account for any cross-site dependencies or optimizations
    

    Editorial and Content Development

    * Serve as the editorial lead for all .EDU content, overseeing the creation and curation of copy, graphics, and multimedia elements to ensure they meet organizational standards and objectives
    * Ensure content consistency and quality across all .EDU initiatives, maintaining alignment with the brands voice and strategic goals
    * Review and approve final content pieces, ensuring they effectively communicate the intended message and meet high-quality standards
    * Conduct qualitative audits to drive consistency across all initiatives and campaigns for assigned platforms to deliver the highest quality user experience
    * Lead a team of writers, designers, and other content creators, providing direction and feedback to ensure high-quality content production
    * Manage content production timelines, workflows, and resource allocations, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
    * When needed, ability to craft original content in alignment with project requirements
    

    Content Production and Governance

    * Establish content governance processes, guidelines, and standards; develop and communicate content standards and nuances for .EDU as needed
    * Collaborate with peers to ensure that all content aligns with NYULHs broader content strategy to increase reputation and amplify brand
    * Drive landing page creation for distinct campaigns (as needed)
    * Contribute to wireframing and page component creation for an engaging user experience
    * Evaluate performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) to make data-driven enhancements to site content 
    * Monitor and improve audience engagement across all .EDU initiatives
    * Align SEO requirements against content strategy and audience needs
    * Develop & manage SEO strategy to optimize content for web platforms, improving organic visibility and driving traffic growth
    * Lead the technical SEO work needed to monitor, maintain, and improve the search infrastructure of the site
    * Work closely with web development and engineering teams to ensure site features enhance SEO effectiveness
    * Develop and maintain taxonomies for key clinical areas based on SEO research
    * Coordinate technical infrastructure audits and implement site improvements based on SEO recommendations
    

    Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

    * Collaborates cross-functionally with technology teams, brand, and other functional teams to build a world-class website experience
    * Partner with fellow content leads to ensure content release schedules are aligned (when required) across all channels to reinforce consistent messaging and user experience
    * Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including world-renowned physicians and subject matter experts to identify opportunities for new and curated content that meets the needs of various target audiences
    * Meet with stakeholders to understand business requirements, and propose possible solutions given current website capabilities. Provide input into future component needs based on an understanding of website gaps.
    * Act as a strategic advisor to stakeholders, helping them understand content trends and best practices in the research and educational sectors
    * Collaborate with the Media Relations team to effectively spotlight and optimize communications opportunities for media stories across assigned platforms
    * Collaborate with Enterprise Communications team to effectively spotlight and optimize communication opportunities for internal distribution / promotion
    * Partner with Brand Standards and Governance Lead to ensure all content aligns with NYULH brand guidelines
    

    Leadership and Team Development

    * Lead, mentor, and develop a team of content professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement
    * Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and professional development opportunities to team members
    * Identify and address skill gaps within the team, facilitating training sessions or recruiting new talent as needed
    

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 7 years of relevant experience in content strategy, content management, educational content development, or a closely related field
    • Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
    • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
    • Previous experience and/or ability to function as a copy editor
    • Passion for storytelling, content creation, and audience engagements
    • Excellent verbal and written communications and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated track record of effective stakeholder management
    • Ability to understand and learn from data-driven insights
    • Proficiency in leveraging tools and platforms to improve content creation, distribution, and performance tracking
    • Analytical mindset guiding decision-making
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team of creative professionals

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Masters degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
    • Experience in content strategy, development, and management within the non-profit sector
    • Experience in the healthcare industry, focusing on medical writing and content creation

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $115,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
