SUMMARY
The Senior Director is a pivotal role in the strategic leadership and operational management of our logistics functions. Reporting directly to the VP/General Manager, this role acts on behalf of the
VP/General Manager in their absence. The position is responsible for supporting the oversight of day-to- day business operations, driving efficiency, optimizing processes, ensuring seamless handling of customer goods and property throughout the supply chain and meeting business objectives.
This position requires a highly talented professional with proven leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a deep understanding of supply chain logistics operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The following are either performed directly or overseen through assigned management personnel and staff
Leadership and Strategy
Collaborate with the VP/General Manager to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives for the Logistics Division
Provide leadership and direction to the logistics team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence
Drive continuous improvement efforts to optimize logistics processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency
Operational Management
Oversee the operations management team representing all aspects including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
Supplier and Vendor Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements to optimize cost-effectiveness and quality
Evaluate supplier performance and implement corrective actions as necessary
Revenue Growth and Retention
Collaborate with sales & marketing teams to develop strategies for continuous new client development and retention of existing customers
Analyze market trends and customer needs to tailor solutions and services to client expectations
Quality Assurance
Establish and maintain quality assurance processes and standards ensuring the highest level of service delivery
Implement quality control measures and audits to identify and rectify deficiencies in operations
Work closely with quality assurance teams to address customer complaints and implement corrective actions
Administration and Finance
Oversee in conjunction with key management administrative functions such as budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation within the Logistics Division
Contribute to the management of financial performance and accountability, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and financial targets
Provide financial analysis and reporting to the VP/General Manager to support decision-making and strategic planning
Collaboration and Communication
Collaborate cross-functionally with shared services departments to ensure alignment and coordination
Communicate effectively with internal / external stakeholders and partners to address issues, resolve conflicts, and drive results
Provide regular updates and reports to the VP/General Manager on areas of responsibility
Risk Management
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the integrity and security of the supply chain
Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to anticipate and adapt to future challenges
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of department/division personnel and activities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Minimum requirement in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint of Intermediate Level (Advanced Level or higher preferred).
Knowledge of general commodities, freight, and high value products to include hazardous materials (HAZMAT).
Ability to negotiate rates with service providers.
Ability to plan, direct and manage accurate asset management (warehouse inventories of various commodities-both receiving and releasing from any company occupied facility.
