Rancher Government Solutions seeks Senior DevSecOps Engineers to support our Department of Defense (DoD) agency customers. Our ideal candidate will have experience working with containers and Kubernetes, strong technical and communication skills, and an understanding of IT infrastructure, Dev/Ops, open-source software, and/or application development. To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to work closely with federal customers to help them understand how to build and maintain Rancher for their business. This role will be part of the Rancher Federal Professional Services organization. Rancher Consulting Engineers' roles will include both remote and onsite consulting.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Maintaining an expert-level understanding of the Rancher Labs portfolio of products
- Understanding complementary technology, such as Kubernetes, Prometheus, etc.
- Providing technical consulting for Rancher users who are architecting container solutions
- Working with prospects and customers to implement solutions based on Rancher and demonstrating the impact of Rancher for users
- Building technical solutions to help solve customer problems
- Developing and executing account plans for strategic accounts
- Maintaining long-term relationships with customers and partners
- Understanding feature requests and advocating for customers and users with product management
- Providing leadership and customer feedback throughout the sales lifecycle
- Acting as a public representative of RGS in North America, including writing and speaking at industry events, conferences, and seminars
What You Will Need:
- Minimum Active US DoD Top Secret clearance
- Ten (10) or more years of experience working with relevant technology as a user or field engineer
- Deep knowledge of containers and container orchestration (Rancher, Kubernetes, Docker or OpenShift) for operations and development
- Experience with DevOps concepts
- Experience with CI/CD and automation software
- Experience presenting technical concepts to end users both in person and virtually
- Experience speaking at Industry events
- Experience creating technical white papers, blog posts, and videos
- Experience working in an open-source community
- Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude for learning
It's a Plus If You Have This:
- Hands-on container orchestration and management experience with tools like RKE2 and K3
- Hands-on IaC experience with tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Saltstack
- Hands-on Linux and (virtual) cloud experience with tools like VSphere, AWS, or Azure
- Knowledge of Python, BASH, or Go

Remote with the ability to travel up to 30% to client locations throughout the US.
