Senior Electrical Estimator – Atlanta, GA
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator with a strong background in construction projects, particularly in the Chemical, Pulp & Paper, and Heavy Industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Office and construction-specific software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide cost estimate support for Industrial Electrical projects under the direct supervision of the Estimating Manager.
- Generate and manage estimates for new bids, pre-bidding processes, and ongoing projects, ensuring budget control across all scopes, systems, and assemblies.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and perform thorough reviews of project specifications, scopes of work, and drawings.
- Organize bid documents professionally and maintain accurate listings of estimates and due dates.
- Formulate and clarify questions during the bid process to minimize assumptions.
- Develop lists of clarifications and exclusions throughout the estimating process for inclusion in project proposals.
- Obtain competitive pricing on materials and develop estimates that can be reviewed for completeness.
- Assist in maintaining an updated database of unit rates for estimating.
- Build and maintain relationships with key electrical suppliers to promote competitive bidding.
- Support on-site supervisors in submitting RFIs and resolving design/installation conflicts.
- Prepare project change request estimates and support the creation of “buy out” project materials listings after project awards.
- Prepare estimate presentations, special studies, budget control reports, and other estimating documents for client presentations.
Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of construction methods and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and construction-specific software.
- Experience in pre-construction and estimating on commercial/industrial construction projects is preferred.
- Ability to estimate all aspects of industrial construction projects, assemble them into one budget, and present to owners.
- Must be able to view projects from a construction business owner’s perspective.
- Strong analytical and logic skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of precision.
Education and Experience:
- Previous experience in pre-construction and estimating on commercial construction projects.
- LEED AP / LEED AP BD+C Certification is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
- The role is generally sedentary with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 20 pounds.
- Some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling may be required.
- Significant fine finger and motor dexterity are necessary.
- Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, fax machines, phones, and filing cabinets.
- Ability to transport necessary equipment and supplies for meetings and other purposes.
- Must have a current driver’s license and the ability to travel to various locations as needed.
