    Butterfly Staffing is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our client's team. With over 20 years of experience, this firm specializes in delivering construction services and renewable energy solutions to federal clients and contracting partners. Their expertise spans secure and mission-critical projects, historical renovation, sustainability, LEED initiatives, and renewable energy integration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in estimating for federal government projects, a deep understanding of government contracting requirements, and a proven track record of preparing accurate and competitive bids.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates for federal government construction projects, including secure and mission-critical facilities, historical renovations, and sustainable energy projects.
    • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bid proposals.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
    • Review and interpret federal government contract requirements, including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement).
    • Perform quantity take-offs and prepare material, labor, and equipment cost estimates.
    • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks associated with projects.
    • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid reviews.
    • Maintain a database of historical data and unit costs for reference in future estimates.
    • Support the negotiation of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and standards.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 5 years focusing on federal government projects.
    • In-depth knowledge of federal government contracting and procurement processes.
    • Proficiency in estimating software such as RSMeans, CostWorks, or similar.
    • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and labor costs.
    • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience with secure, mission-critical, and historical renovation projects is preferred.
    • Knowledge of LEED and sustainability initiatives is a plus.
    • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.

    • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and project risks.
    • Negotiation: Ability to negotiate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve competitive pricing.
  • Compensation
    $125,000-$175,000 per year
