Responsibilities: • Represent clients in District of Columbia court proceedings, overseeing cases from initiation to resolution • Develop customized strategies for intricate family law matters, such as division of marital assets, child custody disputes, and support issues • Manage and organize detailed case files meticulously to maintain precision and confidentiality • Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to legal support staff, including legal assistants and junior attorneys • Conduct thorough legal research, create legal documents like motions, briefs, and pleadings, and prepare clients thoroughly for court appearances • Cultivate and sustain strong client relationships, advocating on their behalf with empathy and expertise • Ensure seamless progression of cases by communicating effectively with team members, clients, and relevant experts • Demonstrate expertise and confidence in the courtroom, showcasing trial advocacy skills and proficiency in litigation Qualifications: Who We’re Looking For:Experience: A minimum of 5 years in Family Law litigation (required) with extensive courtroom and trial experience • Credentials: J.D. from an accredited law school with an active license to practice in DC • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical thinking, and proficient in time management and multitasking • Culture Fit: Someone who thrives in a collaborative, client-centered environment and has a commitment to excellence • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with Google Drive, G-Suite, and (preferably) MyCase case management software • Mindset: A strategic thinker with an innovative approach to solving legal challenges, anticipating potential issues before they arise Preferred Skills: • Estate Planning experience is highly desirable • Maryland Bar license (or willingness to obtain) is a plus • Problem-solving and negotiation skills that reflect creativity and tenacity Ready to Join a Team That Values Your Experience?
