Senior Corporate Development Accountant

Cleveland, OH
Full Time

Do you just so happen to be really good at numbers but also long for a way to be part of something bigger, where your input can help scale a company to new heights? Whoever told you that you can’t do both clearly never worked here. It’s no secret that too many FP&A roles keep talented people stuck in spreadsheets—for some, that’s enough. But for others, it sparks a desire to be more than just a number-cruncher, to find a role where strategic thinking drives real business growth. If you're one of those people, then listen up!

We’ve partnered with a fast-growing, customer-centric residential services company right here in Northeast Ohio that’s shaking up the industry. Backed by Search Fund investors, this company was built on delivering top-tier service.

Now, they are looking to make a strategic hire by adding a Senior Corporate Development Accountant, offering front-row access for someone eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a company that prioritizes exceptional customer experiences in an industry not typically known for its hospitality.

This isn’t your typical finance role—it’s an opportunity to be at the forefront of building something great. Think “Residential Services” sounds boring? Think again. It may not sound so glamorous on paper, but the growth potential is massive. You’ll work directly with the CEO and a board of strategic advisors, and you won’t be tied to a desk. Whether you’re sitting in on board meetings or riding along with crews in the field, you’ll gain hands-on experience far beyond traditional finance roles. The company has a clear expansion plan for the next five years, and as they grow, so will you.

    Why This Role?

    • Growth Opportunity: You’ll be right there as the company expands, learning from the CEO and investors, and growing into a more strategic, leadership-focused role.
    • Hands-On Experience: This job isn’t just about spreadsheets—you’ll be involved in both the financial side and the customer experience side of the business.
    • Customer-Centric Focus: Our client is all about hospitality in the residential services space. They provide exceptional experiences at every interaction, and you’ll be a key player in supporting that vision as the business grows.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Financial Leadership: Oversee financial reporting, cash flow management, and GAAP compliance, but with a focus on supporting the growth of the business.
    • Operational Impact: Work alongside the CEO to identify KPIs that help the business optimize performance and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
    • Strategic Expansion: Be part of a growing company with a clear five-year plan. You’ll help drive decisions on location expansions and resource allocation.
    • Beyond the Numbers: This role is about seeing the bigger picture—it’s not just about accounting. You’ll interact with both the financial side and the operational side of the business, from the boardroom to customer interactions.

    What We're Looking For:

    • A self-starter who’s excited by the idea of wearing multiple hats and being part of both the strategic and day-to-day operations of the business.
    • A finance or accounting professional ready to step out from behind the desk and take on a bigger, more dynamic role that involves learning, leadership, and customer impact.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
    • CPA License (required)
      • 5+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role, with a focus on financial reporting, analysis, and operational support.
      • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and cash flow management.
      • Experience with GAAP compliance and the ability to create financial statements and reports.
      • A self-starter who’s eager to learn and grow with the company, willing to take on responsibilities beyond traditional finance roles.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
      • A passion for strategic thinking and the ability to see beyond the numbers, contributing to the overall growth of the business.
      • Advanced Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software (required).
      • Ability to work on-site in Northeast Ohio, with flexibility to work hybrid in the future.
