We're looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team in Southern Tennessee. You'll assist the Controller with financial, analytical, and accounting tasks, manage product costs, analyze variances, and generate production reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain MRP system accuracy and daily financial reports.
- Analyze direct and indirect labor variances.
- Perform scrap analysis and develop product costs for budgets.
- Generate weekly variance reports and recommend accounting improvements.
- Assist with database maintenance and standard cost updates.
- Monitor and review production, shipping, and receiving transactions.
- Support monthly inventory activities and maintain bills of material.
- Validate cost of goods sold for month-end close.
- Prepare financial models and assist with budget and forecast processes.
- Track financial status and analyze variances from plans.
- Review customer pricing changes and ensure database accuracy.
- Promote teamwork and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Support ISO standards and participate in audits.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (advanced degree desired).
- 5+ years of accounting experience with a strong cost accounting background.
- Automotive or manufacturing accounting experience.
- Advanced Excel and ERP skills (QAD experience a plus).

- Ability to handle high-pressure situations.
- Willingness to challenge historical practices and travel independently.
