Our client, a well-established non-profit is seeking a Senior Accountant with grant accounting experience to join their growing team.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage general ledger accounting, ensuring accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Handle grant and contract accounting, ensuring compliance with state funding requirements.
- Work directly with state agencies to align spending with approved budgets and submit required financial reports.
- Navigate complex state contract structures, including cost reimbursement models.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy in financial statements.
- Potentially supervise other accountants in the future, making experience with direct or indirect supervision a plus.
This role is onsite for the first 90 days, with the role being hybrid 3 days in office, 2 days remote afterwards.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on general ledger accounting, grants, contract management, and budgeting.
- Expertise in state contracts and cost reimbursement accounting.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- A strategic thinker who can work independently while collaborating with external and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
