Job Summary
As a Senior Health Representative, you will play a vital role in engaging Alfa customers by building, establishing, and nurturing relationships. In addition, you will be responsible for meeting or exceeding new contract enrollment goals to contribute to the overall growth of Alfa Health and benefits to Alfa Members.
Responsibilities
Provide accurate customer service externally to new and existing Clients and Policyholders, and internally to Alfa Agents and Sales Representatives.
Market products and process applications for customer enrollment in Comprehensive Major Medical, Small Group (Health), Dental, Vision, Ancillary/Indemnity and Medicare products.
New business goal for 100 unique ACA clients within first 6 months of hire, and 400 total contracts within the first year and OE/AEP.
Process policy changes as requested, and securely submit required documents.
Upload, index, and maintain customer enrollment information including applications, statements regarding income, pertinent electronic communications (i.e. email) in the HIPAA compliant, cloud-based file storage system: ‘BOX’.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
Must have or be able to obtain Health Insurance Producer License and Life Insurance Producer License issued from the Alabama Department of Insurance; must complete the required CE courses (24 credits in a 2-year period) to maintain state insurance license.
If newly hired, must obtain Alabama Health Insurance License within 90-days, and Life Insurance license within 180 days.
Must apply for and obtain Non-Resident Producer licenses in Mississippi and Georgia.
6 months+ experience with customer service and knowledge of health insurance and Medicare products.
Computer skills required: Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel, Box imaging system, AWS Connect call center and chat support, email composition, direct letter writing, knowledge of income tax filing procedures and forms, and basic mathematics skills.
Must complete the appointment process for approximately one-dozen Health Insurance carriers across a 3-state radius. Must maintain appointments through carrier provided continuing education.
