SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer within the commercial construction industry for a fast-growing manufacturing company in San Antonio, Texas! This company sparks innovation in Power Distribution Modules, Generator Enclosures, and E-Houses. With a charge for excellence, they design cutting-edge mission critical systems and energizing infrastructure worldwide.
This Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing Packaged Power systems, Including Electrical Houses that integrate Medium and High Voltage Switchgear applications. The ideal candidate should have five to ten years of experience in Electrical engineering, with a strong background in electrical design and systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design electrical systems for generator enclosures, including transformers, disconnects, panelboards, and associated accessories.
- Create and develop low voltage power distribution systems for generator projects.
- Integrate various electrical components, ensuring proper functionality and safety standards are met.
- Design and implement control systems using relays, PLCs, float switches, and digital I/O for generator systems.
- Work with 3D modeling software, specifically SolidWorks, to design and visualize electrical layouts and ensure accuracy in the design process.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure designs meet customer requirements and industry standards.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Troubleshoot design challenges and provide solutions to optimize efficiency and performance.
- Participate in design reviews, ensuring electrical designs align with overall project goals.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5-10 years of experience in electrical design or engineering, preferably in power generation, generator systems or similar power systems.
- Strong understanding of low voltage power distribution, including transformers, panelboards, and disconnects.
- Knowledge of basic control systems using relays, PLCs, float switches, and digital I/O.
- Proficiency in 3D design software, preferably SolidWorks, or familiarity with similar 3D modeling tools.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software for documentation and reporting.
