We are seeking a seasoned attorney (4+ years of experience) looking to take the next step in their career by joining us as a Senior Litigation Associate. The role involves handling complex legal matters, providing expert counsel to clients, and contributing to the Firm's long-standing tradition of providing excellent legal services. Senior Associates are expected to take on significant responsibility, including managing cases independently, mentoring junior attorneys, and participating in client development. This role demands strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, as well as a proven track record of success. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and results-oriented attorney with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. Compensation-$125,000 - $185,000 with working hours bonus potential of $4,500 -$48,000 Responsibilities: All employees are expected to excel in delivering service to clients consistent with our core values: Collaboration ; Authentic Relationships ; Respect ; Excellence ; and Service. Hence, the expectations, duties, and responsibilities of all employees, Associate Attorneys, and Senior Litigation Attorneys include, without limitation: Collaboration- Achieving Success through teamwork. • Understand and support the mission, philosophy, and goals of the Firm, including its Mission, Vision & Values; • Complete administrative and Firm projects as requested by the Directors and/or Firm Administrator; • Follow the Firm's rules and guidelines as set forth in the Employee Handbook, and any other rules and guidelines set forth by Directors and the Firm Administrator, all of which may be amended from time to time at the sole discretion of the Directors; • Work both independently and collaboratively with staff, attorneys, and Directors; • Meet the Firm's billable hour requirements, including entering time accurately and in a timely manner; • Demonstrate ability to generate business and an understanding of the business aspects associated with running a law firm; • Work with the Firm's Marketing Director to develop an appropriate marketing plan and carry out actions necessary for marketing/client development; Authentic Relationships- Establishing and Cultivating personal connections. • Practice professionalism in everything you do at the Firm and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with co-workers; • Demonstrate skills as a "self-starter" and seek out diverse projects to develop a broad legal background; • Demonstrate maturity in handling stressful legal issues for clients; • Demonstrate ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with minimal supervision; • Meet the Firm's Pro-Bono hour requirements; • Meet the Firm’s EDI requirements; • Follow the Firm's policies with respect to the supervision of work product and client relations (see Supervisory Authority, below). Respect- thoughtful conduct that considers our impact on others. • Present yourself in a professional manner, including dress and speech, and maintain a neat, clean, and well-organized office or workspace; • Provide regular, positive, thorough communication to other employees, particularly supervising Directors, and to clients, as specifically requested by Directors; • Observe confidentiality of all Firm clients and the Firm; • Report all issues, accidents, safety hazards, special concerns, or problems to appropriate supervisors; • Demonstrate ability to comprehend complex matters, identify and articulate core issues, and understand applicable legal principles; • Develop and execute strategy and legal analysis necessary for representation of clients; • Ability to manage cases independently and be proactive on cases from conception to conclusion; • Craft creative solutions to the legal challenges presented by clients, offering diverse opinions and points of view. Excellence- Providing exceptional practical counsel with integrity. • Have a knowledge, understanding, and genuine interest in the law, as appropriate to the position; • Effective written and oral communication skills; • Demonstrate continued growth and improvement in the performance of job duties over time; • Possess a keen eye for detail, coupled with exceptional research and proofreading abilities; • Adhere to Colorado Rules of Professional Responsibilities at all times; • Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations; • Conduct quality legal research using internet sources, electronic resources, books, and other sources and apply legal knowledge to complex legal issues; • Draft quality legal memoranda, pleadings, briefs, contracts, and other legal documents with a high degree of motivation and competitiveness with integrity as it relates to work-product; Service- Diligently working to support clients, colleagues, and communities. • Proven time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize issues and tasks; • Demonstrate initiative and ownership of projects; • Provide expert advice on specialized areas of law • Independently manage and execute all aspects of litigation for firm clients; including, investigation; drafting and filing pleadings and papers in Court or administrative proceedings; plan and conduct discovery and depositions; participate in settlement negotiations and draft/negotiate settlement terms; prepare for and conduct trial, and all post-trial work (including appeals). • Willingness to craft and follow an approved business development and continuing legal education plan, in accordance with Firm practice, and the requirements of the State of Colorado for all attorneys with a valid license to practice law. Qualifications: • Juris Doctorate degree; • Valid license to practice law in Colorado (or ability to obtain admission in a timely manner); • 4 or more years of Prior Litigation Experience (1st or 2nd chair experience a plus). • Valid license to drive in Colorado and satisfactory driving record; and • The ability to use or learn various software programs including but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, time entry software, legal research software, and document management software. • The ability to work productively and collaboratively with others; • The ability to work in a deadline-driven environment; • Lifting and carrying up to 15 pounds frequently; • Occasional bending, stooping, walking, running, standing, sitting, kneeling, crawling, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching above the head, and reaching away from the body; • Seeing, hearing, and responding to the needs of clients, staff, and Directors; • Proficient at speaking, reading, and writing in the English language; The Position will involve periods of mental, physical, or emotional stress. • Must have the maturity and sound judgment needed to handle emergency situations.
