The Senior Litigation Legal Secretary will provide legal and administrative support to multiple attorneys. This essential, highly responsible, and accountable position requires the individual to work independently, anticipate needs, be proactive, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate professionalism. The successful candidate must deliver excellent work and superior service to the Firm and the Firm’s clients. The candidate must also possess strong organizational and time management skills, communicate effectively, and be flexible as demands and priorities change.
▪ Drafts and finalizes legal documents such as pleadings, discovery and motions
▪ Drafts written correspondence (e.g., letters, memoranda)
▪ Maintains and organizes legal files
▪ Maintains contact with clients
▪ Assists in management of attorneys’ calendars
▪ Files documents either by hand or electronically
▪ Schedules court reporters for depositions and court hearings
▪ Liaises with attorneys to help delegate assignments
▪ Researches newly-assigned judges, prepares/forwards judicial profiles for/to attorneys
▪ Calendars deadlines
▪ Prepares templates for responsive documents
▪ Assembles binders for mediation, depositions, etc. (generally five days before the event)
▪ Other miscellaneous duties, as assigned
SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
▪ Minimum of ten years related work experience and/or education
▪ Knowledge of the current Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
▪ Ability to type 60 wpm.
▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
