Our client, renowned for their progressive approach and dedication to leading engineering advancements and holding a strong commitment to the community, is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their team.
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will design, fabricate, modify, and repair molds for the plastic injection molding process while implementing robust manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality products, requiring advanced tool design knowledge, project management skills, and a commitment to safety and quality standards in a dynamic, proactive, and hands-on role.
Responsibilities:
Utilize SolidWorks software to design molds for plastic prototypes and manufacturing processes.
Address and resolve design-related issues during the mold build process, making necessary modifications.
Configure equipment according to mold specifications, material requirements, and tolerance levels.
Use measuring and gauging tools to ensure molds comply with design specifications.
Conduct testing to verify molds meet quality standards prior to entering the production cycle.
Choose appropriate materials and demonstrate an understanding of various plastics and their behavior in injection molding.
Train, supervise, and mentor machine operators to ensure adherence to best practices.
Assess production and machine requirements to optimize efficiency.
Design and evaluate effective automated and manual systems for manufacturing processes.
Integrate various systems, including equipment handling and transport, for seamless operations.
Work closely with engineers, internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Accurately document and maintain both new and existing manufacturing processes, providing training to staff as needed.
Ensure manufacturing procedures adhere to safety and environmental regulations.
Implement new technologies to enhance systems and processes.
Address production issues and procurement challenges, such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Oversee non-standard requests to maintain high-quality service across all business areas.
Occasional domestic or international travel may be requested for training and/or to support customer needs
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in mold design and manufacturing equipment
Hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting
Proficiency in SolidWorks
Associate’s degree or training certificate in tool and die making
Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and tool design
Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
Project management skills
Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
